Alsim was founded in 1994, by airline pilot Jérôme Binachon and computer engineer Jean-Paul Monnin. By 1997, Alsim was recognized as the company that was 'leading the way' in how flight trainers are designed and produced. Alsim today, has become a 'major force' in the flight training market.
Jérôme Binachon had a vision to develop TFT screens to display cockpit instruments, while still retaining the ergonomic features of traditional instumentation. Together with Jean-Paul Monnin, they discovered the missing link between PC based desk top devices and full flight simulators. Assembling a staff that grew up with personal computers and combining this expertise with their innovative ideas, they created a technical breakthrough in the training world by introducing TFT screens in FTD's years ahead of the competition. Their vision resulted in a range of aircraft types that could be simulated on the same machine.
Alsim's state-of-the-art technology allows instructors to reconfigure FTD's for different aircraft types and gives flying schools more training options and higher profit margins. Alsim is the first manufacturer to obtain a 'dual' FNPT II/FNPT II MCC certification on the same flight trainer.
Without using aggressive marketing techniques or advertising campaigns, Alsim has become the European Leader of the Flight Training Device market and is renowed for the Alsim Feel. Alsim FTD's provide such real sensations (like: authentic yoke feedback, continuity and coherence between instruments and external views) that Alsim FTD users 'feel' they are flying the actual aircraft.
Alsim has grown into a major force in the flight trainer market, because we remain actively involved in research and development. Our flight trainers are in operation all over the globe due to dedicated research & development and expertise in advanced computer mechanics and aerodynamics technology. Alsim is also well known for solving training needs with our type-specific training devices.
Today Alsim has a history of producing the 'highest quality' FTD's equipped with the 'latest in avionics'. Our reconfigurable flight training devices have met, and often surpassed, the needs of flight schools, airlines, military organizations and corporate flight departments in over 22 countries.
Alsim takes great pride in knowing our 'pioneering spirit' has resulted in our customer's repeat and multiple orders. It is the same spirit that continues to keep us at the top of FTD technology.
Alsim is headquartered in Nantes, France, and is pleased to announce the 2005, opening of our North American office. Located in the Montreal area, this office provides quick access to our developing customer base in both the United States and Canada.
